Are all your thoughts true?

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut? That you can’t seem to get out of your own way? This is often due to beliefs that we hold about ourselves that are not serving us. These beliefs can be difficult to let go of, but it is possible. In this blog post, I will discuss how to identify and let go of beliefs that are not serving you. I will also provide tips on how to replace those beliefs with ones that will empower you!

Just because you have thought the same thought over and over again for the past X number of years doesn’t mean that it’s true. Our thoughts create our beliefs so it’s worthwhile asking yourself if this was your original belief or was it placed on you by someone else?

So, how can you identify the beliefs that are holding you back? Start by paying attention to your thoughts and emotions. If you find yourself feeling negative emotions like fear, anger, or anxiety on a regular basis, it’s likely that your thoughts aren’t serving you and can do with an upgrade.

Thoughts such as: “I come from a family of overweight women, so I will always struggle with my weight.”.

Or “my grandmother was highly anxious, my mother was highly anxious and I am too, it’s in my genes.”

Once you recognise these thoughts that are not serving you, you are one step closer to changing those thoughts. Ask yourself whether it’s true?

Then make a slight change to the wording so that you can start changing the belief in your mind.

Such as:

“it doesn’t have to be a part of me, I’m learning how to take appropriate steps to live without that heightened anxiety.”

And “I’m in the process of taking action and changing that overweight family dynamic”.

You are only limited by the ceiling of limitations that you place on yourself. If you don’t believe in your ability to achieve something, you won’t. It’s as simple as that.

Do you have a closed mindset or an open mindset?

A closed mindset is when you hold firm to your beliefs and refuse to consider any new information or evidence that goes against them. You may believe that your current situation is permanent and unchanging which can lead to feelings of hopelessness and despair.

If you have a closed mindset, you will likely experience more negative emotions and limiting beliefs which can prevent you from learning and growing and ultimately achieving your goals.

If you find that you have a closed mindset, try to be more open to new ideas and concepts. Challenge your beliefs and consider what other people may think or feel about the situation. This can help you expand your perspective and gain a better understanding of the world around you.

If you are willing to explore new ideas and perspectives, you can open your mind and start making positive changes in your life as you will be able to change your beliefs and be open to discovering a different way of thinking.

Where your focus goes your energy flows.

What are you looking for in your life? What you’re looking for you will find evidence for. If you want to change your life, start by changing your focus. Focus on the process, not the outcome. Life is a journey, not a destination.
